Q. How do I register for Bark In The Park 2008?
We offered online registration for the first time this year. We will be offering the same process for pre-registration in 2008.
Q. Does it cost anything to participate in Bark in the Park?
Registering in Bark in the Park is $15 for pre-registration and $20 to register at the event. If you are not participating in the actual walk, there is a $5 donation requested to enter the Dog Walk field and participate in all our activities and events.
Q. How does LHS utilize donations?
LHS uses all proceeds from Bark in the Park to fulfill our goals to house and care for homeless animals and provide them with a chance at a lifelong, loving home. Your support helps provide care, feeding and shelter for thousands of animals every year. Proceeds will also go towards the building of a state-of-the-art facility.
Q. Will my name or my donors' names be sold or shared to other organizations?
No. LHS never releases its mailing list to any other group or business.
Q. Do I have to have a dog to participate?
No. Many of our walkers participate to honor their other companion animals, or just to promote the peaceful and healthy bond between humans and animals. If you do wish to bring a dog, please read the guidelines.
Q. What if it rains on the day of the event?
If it rains, bring your umbrella and rain boots! Bark in the Park will take place as scheduled, rain or shine. Remember, the animals need our help, even if we get a little damp.
Q. I'm going to be out of town. Can I still help raise funds for animals?
Of course! We welcome all supporters, even those who will be out of town. When you register, just select Sponsor A Dog and join those dedicated individuals who are making a difference even if they can't attend the event.
Q. Do you need Volunteer help at Bark in the Park?
Yes! It takes more than 25 volunteers to make Bark in the Park a success each year. From Setup and Check-In to Pooper Scoopers Patrol (and many other opportunities), this event is truly a volunteer effort.
