Farewell Lauren Buckner! You will be missed!
Well, we have some sad news to report, Lauren Buckner, one of our volunteers extraordinaire is leaving us!! She is moving out of the state, all the way to Texas!!! In case you did not know Lauren, she could usually be found at the shelter caring for all the kitties in the cattery. She had a special talent for caring for those who were really in need and took on some of the shelters most difficult cases of special needs cats and kittens.
She was also a super contact for our foster homes who needed guidance on treating ringworm and upper respiratory infections amongst other things. Lauren also was a great addition to many outside adoption events and an amazing foster mom who donated the cost of caring for these babies out of her own pocket!!! Lauren is always thoughtful and would show her appreciation for our hard working staff by bringing in snacks and homemade cookies for everyone to enjoy. Not to mention the countless times that she made herself available to transport animals to the vet and rescues on a moment's notice.
Lauren is a caring and marvelous person and anyone who had opportunity to work with her is certainly lucky!!! She will be sorely missed! Please join me in wishing Lauren the best of luck with her move and her new home!! I certainly hope that whatever shelter or rescue group she finds to volunteer at in Texas will appreciate all Lauren has to offer.
