8. Simba Malcolm: The Senior Cat Who Got His Second Chance at Happiness
How’s this for a bad day? You’re approaching your twilight years and you suddenly find yourself abandoned by the family and inflicted with a lifelong illness. This is what happened to Simba Malcolm, the friendly 14-year old tabby who was surrendered by his owners in June because they were moving to an apartment that didn’t allow pets. For months, staff and volunteers posted numerous rescue and adoption pleas asking for someone to give this lovely FIV+ cat a home. Finally, in November Simba Malcolm’s tireless advocates, Joan Doljan and Linda D’Esposito, found him an adopter! Staff and volunteers alike were ecstatic to see Simba Malcolm find a relaxing, committed home where he could spend the rest of his days.
